Parent Guild

Wow... it's already May!!  We have a busy Spring ahead of us!! Congratulations and God Bless the SJS Second Grade class who received their First Holy Communion on a sunny Saturday in late April.  The May Parent Guild meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8th at 7:30 pm.  All are always welcome & encouraged to attend.  Please see below for some brief information of some of the things that have been going on and are yet to come as we approach the end of the school year!

March was Read Accross America month and the RAA committee organized many wonderful events & activities throughout the month! It started off with a cupcake celebration for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Friday night Book Bingo was a great success with all of the participants taking home at least one book for the evening; and the Barnes & Noble Book Fair was great fun with participation by many of our students and families... there was even a visit from Macaroni the Clown!!.   This year's Read Accross America Theme for SJS was "READ TO BUILD...." where the school raised over $3,000.00 to fund a bedroom in a new Habitat for Humanity House in Newburgh---WOW!!

SJS even made the "CHEERS" section of the Times Herald Record for these amazing fundraising efforts.
