Research Paper

The entire 4th Quarter Writing/Composition will be an MLA Research Paper.
There will be no assigned independent reading genre.  Classroom reading books should relate to the Research Paper topic.

  • Students will choose a topic, gather information, outline a paper, draft, edit and revise the paper.
All drafting/editing must be done in class.  Gathering source information is done in your local Library and online.
  • It is important that students follow the dated steps outlined on the timetable for a successful portfolio.
  • Students should have a double -pocket folder, large and small index cards, looseleaf and a red pen brought to each RP class.
  • Acceptable sources, guidelines for MLA citation, and portfolio format will follow the Writer's Choice textbook and supplemental notes.

Attached is a Timetable, Guidelines and Rubric for each grade.  Hard copies will be distributed in class.
