William Kelly places 2nd in the 2011 Archdiocese of New York Essay Contest "What the Blessings of Christmas Mean to Me."

The Archdiocese of NY invited 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to participate in an essay contest, "What the Blessings of Christmas Mean to Me."  It was a difficult decision to select the two best essays from each grade with over 90 essays to select from.  Their heartfelt words just jumped off the page!

We are proud and pleased to announce that William Kelly and his family will be seeing the Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall, and they are invited backstage to visit with the Rockettes!  He placed second in a contest that included thousands of entries.  Click here to read his essay.

Senator Larkin's Thanksgiving 2011 "What Are You Thankful For" Essay Contest

Senator William Larkin sponsored a Thanksgiving essay contest answering the question:  "What Are You Thankful For."  His office called St. John's School to say that all the 6th grade essays would be online on his website.  He was very impressed with the quality of their writing!

Please keep checking Senator Larkins website, http://www.nysenate.gov/senator/william-j-larkin-jr, and look for some beautiful, thoughtful writing by my 6th grade students.
